Quick reference

As an alternative to conventional phone lines, customers have the option to purchase virtual phone numbers. Unlike physical landlines, virtual numbers operate exclusively through internet connectivity. Many managers opt for virtual phone numbers due to their independence from specific phone devices or physical wired connections. By eliminating the constraints associated with traditional phone lines, virtual phone numbers offer a flexible and unrestricted communication solution.

Number types and features

DID number - Direct inward dialing (DID) is an approach employed by organizations to direct incoming calls to designated private branch exchange (PBX) systems, eliminating the need for operator intervention.

CallerID - Caller identification, commonly known as Caller ID, is a telephony feature provided in both analog and digital telephone systems, including Voice over IP (VoIP). It facilitates the transmission of the caller's telephone number to the recipient's telephone equipment during the call setup process. Caller ID is primarily utilized for outbound calls, enabling the called party to identify the originating telephone number.

Toll-Free (800) - Commonly referred to as toll-free numbers, these particular phone numbers incur charges on the company rather than the customer for all incoming calls. For callers, making a call to a toll-free number from either a landline or mobile phone is exempt from any charges. Should you desire to have a toll-free number associated with your TelTel account, the costs for inbound calls will be deducted from your account credit.

Premium rate (900) - "900" numbers, known as "pay-per-call" services, operate on a charging model where client is billed for both the call itself and the information or service rendered. The charges associated with these calls are set by the specific company offering the service, rather than being regulated by the government or telephone companies

Short Numbers - Tailored specifically for incoming business calls, short numbers are intelligently crafted to ensure effortless memorability for your clients. These numbers can serve various purposes, such as toll-free, shared cost, or regular provider-based billing, depending on your specific requirements.

National - Distinct from geographical phone numbers, national phone numbers are not restricted to a specific local area. When it comes to outbound phone calls made through TelTel using a national number, the pricing remains consistent with that of local numbers. Callers who dial a national TelTel number should be charged by their telecommunications carrier in a manner equivalent to a local call.

Geographical/local - These numbers possess a digit arrangement that is associated with a distinct urban center, thereby establishing a connection with a specific geographical area like New York, Riga, and others.

Mobile - Typically utilized for cellular devices and associated with SIM cards, mobile numbers serve a fundamental purpose. TelTel provides mobile numbers in select countries; however, our numbers diverge from the conventional norm as they are not tied to a SIM card. They can be employed similarly to local or national numbers, allowing for seamless usage. Additionally some mobile numbers may allow SMS reception.
